Perry + Daniel’s New Orleans Wedding | March 11, 2017

I honestly can’t think of what to say about these two lovelies. They’ve opened their hearts to me over the past 6 years and have become two of my favorite humans (plus their dog, Danger is one of my favorited puppies). Not only did I get to go hang out with these two in September of 2016 to photographer their engagement shoot but I got to go down again in March to photograph their  wedding. It was described, by many, as the “party of the century.”

The day began at The Ritz-Carlton in the CBD in New Orleans for the ladies and the Pontchatrain Hotel in The Garden District for the guys.

It was lots of laughs, goofing off, hanging out with old friends, and getting pretty. Once the dress was on,  and her hair was perfected, suit was on and his hair was perfected, everyone convened at The Ritz for the first look.

Could there have been a more beautiful area? Perry looked stunning as she tapped Daniel on the shoulder. I can’t insist that a couple do a first look, however, I always strongly recommend it, just for shots like this! The Ritz in New Orleans is a beautiful hotel and we did our best to use as much as we could with the time allowed.

So, after our courtyard time it was finally on to the ceremony and reception at the Il Mercato in Uptown, New Orleans. Il Mercato is a stunning Spanish style event space surrounded by New Orleans’ infamous charm.  Every area of this venue is done up perfectly, including the bathroom where we did a little bit of photographing before everything got going.

The couple started out with the signing of the Katubbah, the Jewish marriage contract before entering the courtyard for a ceremony covered by a beautiful Huppah. Everyone was in tears. These two have been together for 10 years and we all knew the emotion and love that was filling every moment.

Now, there is something special that happens in New Orleans. It’s a Second Line. New Orleans loves parades. LOVES. So, after a wedding, traditionally, the bride and groom lead their guests on a parade around the block. Carrying their bride and groom umbrellas and leading a brass band Perry and Daniel walked, danced, and drank their way around Uptown. They ended up back at Il Mercato ready to party the rest of the night away!
